Wade fishing is one of the most productive and enjoyable ways to fly fish for trout.  Nearly all of our waters hold trout, but where do you begin?  We are here to eliminate the unproductive waters and put you on the fish.  Most trout streams are gin clear and Vermont's are too.  They may be beautiful to look at, but this clarity adds an element of difficulty to the fishing.  It is our belief that improper approach and presentation are the most common mistakes anglers make.  Many anglers spook fish before they even get a chance to cast to them.  We will show you how to catch trout in nearly any trout fishing situation

Wading pits you against the trout, on their level

Through years of trial and error, we have developed methods that will consistently produce trout wherever you fish.  Our half day trips include beverages, all equipment and flies.  Expect to walk/wade 1/2 to 2 miles.  Our full day trips include lunch, beverages, and all equipment and flies.  Expect to walk/wade 1 to 4 miles.  Our most popular full day trip has been fishing the larger White or Ottauquechee Rivers in the morning, then one of our fabulous tributaries the remainder of the day.  These waters fish well all season long, even in midsummer.  Thanks to our dedicated scouting last year, this season we'll show you a lot of new, previously untouched water!

With an abundance of trout holding water in central Vermont, our wade trips are always exciting.  The scenery is always changing, and if you are like me, you'll want to explore and see what's around the next bend.  That is one of the factors that make wade fishing so much fun.  This is, by far, the most challenging and intimate way to spend a day on the stream.  When successful there is no greater satisfaction.

Very technical water
