They just don't get any prettier than this!

Small stream fishing can have a way of making you feel like the best fly fisherman in the world.  Here, hungry trout will seemingly rise on every cast.  This can be a place to go to rebuild your confidence after the "big water" has bruised your ego.  Yet this is not the only reason try our tributaries.  It can be as easy or as difficult as you want to make it.  This can be a truly rewarding way to fish for trout, with an emphasis on the fun and relaxing aspects of our beloved sport, or a test of your skills, trying to present your fly in the most technical of casting situations.  A method of fly fishing that in some cases is more like trout hunting, than trout fishing.  This is the beauty of small stream fishing, you make it what you want it to be.  Lose yourself in the very things that attracted you to fly fishing to begin with; beautiful serene streams, full of wild brook, rainbow and brown trout.  Waters that make you feel as though you are the only one who has ever fished them.  These are the places we retreat to when we need to re-nourish our souls and remind ourselves of why we fly fish.

Experience as many as 6 of Vermont's finest, small streams.  Your quarry, up to 4 different species of wild trout and salmon.

Stalking Late Season Trout on a Small Stream

We will chase trout in some streams that are small enough to jump across, fishing with rods so light, an 8 inch fish will feel like a tarpon.  The occasional 12 inch plus fish will really test your tackle and skills.  The feeling of accomplishment when a bright, wild fish is brought to hand is unmatched.

These waters are the first to stabilize and fish well
in early spring and they continue to offer outstanding angling opportunities all season long.

Like our other trips, lunch, beverages, equipment and flies are all included.

Let us take you back to the smaller waters that you cut your teeth on, or experience this kind of fly fishing for the first time.  The shear simplicity of small stream fishing can be one of its allures, or make it as challenging as you wish.  This is more fun than you should be allowed to have in a single day.  No other fishermen, no schedules, no pressures, just an uncomplicated and rewarding escape.

A day to remember.

What a beautiful brook trout!

It's not all about size on a small stream
